Mario is a Research Professor at the University of Vigo in Spain and the Director of the Post-Growth Innovation Lab. He is the Principal Investigator of the project PROSPERA (Prospering without growth: Science, Innovation and technology in a post-growth era) funded by the European Research Council.
Mario is the coordinator of the H2020 project JUST2CE (A just transition to Circular Economy) where his work focuses on Responsible Research and Innovation and Innovation for degrowth/postgrowth, with a specific focus on self-managed organizations and cooperatives.
Mario holds a PhD in Management from the University of Exeter Business School. After his Marie-Curie post-doctoral fellowship in Brussels, he was a research fellow at the University of Bristol from 2017 to 2020. Mario is an international faculty member of the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, where he teaches Responsible Innovation in the Executive MBA program.
