David Thomas is a solution management professional, specialising in social economy, local food systems, and open source technology. For over a decade, his work has centred around social and community development, academic research, and climate policy.
As Executive Director of Open Food Network Canada, David works with communities across Canada to support the growth of sustainable community food enterprises and coops and assist them in leveraging open source technology to coordinate their supply chains. He brings a versatile combination of innovation network management and community-based action research to his work, and specialises in finding creative and practical solutions for real-world problems. His mission is to help local communities discover the role that open source can play in building viable pathways toward regenerative and mutualistic agrifood economies.
