The current President of Cooperatives Europe, the apex organization representing cooperative enterprises in Europe, which promotes the cooperative business model across 77 member organizations from 32 countries. Cooperatives Europe represents 141 million individuals, 250,000 cooperative enterprises, and employs 5.4 million people. He is also the President of CECOP-CICOPA Europe, the European Confederation of Industrial and Social Cooperatives, representing over 50,000 companies and 1.3 million workers in Europe. Additionally, he serves on the Board of CICOPA, Cooperatives Europe, and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).

As a spokesperson for the Social Economy category of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) since 2010, he has focused on social economy, social enterprises, employment, and finance for SMEs. He also holds leadership roles in Confcooperative, representing Italy’s cooperative movement, and is Vice President of the Fondazione Comunità Bergamasca. With extensive experience in social cooperatives, he has also taught and collaborated with research institutes on social economy studies.
